Hope in Shadows

The Hope in Shadows calendar is sold on the streets of Vancouver and Victoria by Megaphone's homeless and low-income vendors. Vendors buy each calendar for $10 and sell them for $20, keeping the profit. The calendar is made up of photos taken by our vendors in an annual photography contest. All photos are taken on single-use disposable film cameras.

The annual Hope in Shadows photography contest is happening in Vancouver on June 9th, 2018 and in Victoria on June 4th, 2018. Every year, Megaphone vendors use disposable cameras to capture the community and have the chance to have their photographs featured in the award-winning Hope in Shadows calendar.  Plus, there are cash prizes for the Top 30 photos!
Want to enter the photo contest?
The Hope in Shadows photo contest is open to Megaphone and Hope in Shadows vendors - that means anyone who sells the magazine or calendar. Everyone interested in participating must RSVP before June 8 by contacting Megaphone.
Know someone interested and they're not yet a vendor? No problem! Becoming a vendor is easy and training only takes an hour. Connect with Megaphone before June 8th to complete a quick vendor training and get signed up.
