WHAT RECOVERY MEANS TO ME

Freedom from slavery: I’d been kept in bondage of the bottle for so

many years that my life had come to the point that

I thought I was hopeless.

I feel that because of the steps that I took that delivered me here, my

eyes have finally been opened. All the treatment centres, detoxes

and hours upon hours of learning have finally come together with

the gifts being given to me here and now.

I realize that recovery is not really all that hard. It takes work and

an understanding of what I proudly call God, my Higher Power. It

means to me that it is never too late and to never give up

because it will come to you.

Recovery means happiness; it means that I have the power to make

changes in self, to become the most I can be.

Sometimes it isn’t easy but with a mind on recovery,

I have a choice and a clear one at that.

Recovery shows me that I am not perfect and that’s okay. Recovery

Shows me that I can love myself and also my fellow human beings.

Recovery shows me that I am not perfect and that’s okay. Recover

shows me that I can love myself and also my fellow human beings.

Recovery gives me an open mind so I can listen with my heart,

recovery gives me a clear head so I can get to know God who

through His loving direction, has shown what recovery means to me.

Thank you Father. Amen.
