Megaphone's Night of Joyful Voices

The past year saw Megaphone make some big strides in our mission to provide a voice and an economic opportunity for homeless and low-income people in Vancouver.

We launched our incredibly successful writing workshop program in the Downtown Eastside and the magazine helped put thousands of dollars into the pockets of our vendors. We also won the Most Improved Street Paper award at the North American Street Paper Association conference in Chicago.

Needless to say, we have a lot of reasons to celebrate—and we’d like to do it with you.

On Friday, December 10, Megaphone is hosting its second annual Night of Joyful Voices at Café Deux Soleils (2096 Commercial Drive). The event will give you a chance to kick off some steam and celebrate the holiday season with Vancouver’s award-winning street paper.

Headlining this year’s concert will be David Vertesi, from popular local band Hey Ocean!,Vancouver-based Ladner, featuring BCCLA executive director David Eby on guitar and vocals, Julia and her Piano, and comedian Graham Clark. There will be raffle draws, drinks, and food. All for just $15!

Megaphone’s Night of Joyful Voices is part of our winter fundraising drive. This year we need to raise $10,000 so we can continue to empower our vendors and ensure that everyone in Vancouver has a voice.

Help support Megaphone’s mission by purchasing a ticket for the event or by making a donation to our fundraising campaign
