Once again Megaphone is proud to co-present the Victory Square Block Party—a free community concert this Sunday, September 4th, at Victory Square Park. This fantastic event, happening yearly since 2004, focuses on forging and revitalizing connections between community members, artists, locals and visitors alike. It will also have some rockin' music.

In newest issue of Megaphone, we look at how the event is a celebration both in public space and of public space, providing a forum for sharing good times and asserting the community's space in Vancouver. 

In this issue we also look at the controversy surrounding the City of Vancouver's Short-Term Incentives for Rental (STIR) program; offer our praise for Vancouver Coastal Health's new crack-pipe distribution program; welcome the brand new community-minded W2 Cafe in Woodward's; and much more.
